FYI, I've identified Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5 in C Sharp Minor 3) Scherzo as playing in "Magical Golden Singing Cheeses" when Stimpy attempts to pry the cheese off the ogre's feet. https://www.warnerchappellpm.com/album/cpm-classical-class013/MTMyMzk1My1lY2ZhNjM?itemTrackSearchHash=eJxlUsFuwjAM_RWUcye07cYRJE6bmGA7AarcxEsj0rhLUqBC_PucFgZ0hyj2e8-JX5yTCAhelp_oKzERIrvLg5ist5nw-NMYj2pu0CrGTkJCBEs68WL28T6aWQjBSLBie87Ed9Kt0KKMhlxXUEHkI9sa-Qo8goyCdXiUtlE4H8rTndAlrN6M-34244fWFjV6iORZsViKy51TohC5_tSnzGl0HgPzRU-9nrMbGZpiyL_c8xWReuC4r0A-TlsmPTcMAXMFEXOyCkPMI-UODxylIia_lm9DBx6cxqHZYCpjwZvYrjrlBe3ihTfapIfgGcjdqAf5oNLo0vLixr7BBrzqr0Na37zf-7x6chS7fIftgXwHgS2aivcDN4I-IQolKOTAuBB9U6GLCf6bfibqprAmlL08mmjxelC-J8sVHY5VTbxrT01tnOZwzxVpvomUpeu_TjKlFLrlv__2VELIa5A70JhLspfnSy6f-cudfwF50vXc
ReplyDeleteNice find, glad to finally have this ID'd.
DeleteI found the last unknown track for "Magical Golden Singing Cheeses." It's Stately Pavane by Brian Whitehouse (APM)
ReplyDeleteOnly getting around to seeing this a month later, many thanks for the ID and finally taking another episode down!
DeleteMy findings related to those and more were all from the GEMA database, I've listed all of them over in the comments of Terminal Stimpy / Reverend Jack's page.
ReplyDeleteGot some more updated track info from GEMA:
ReplyDelete-Magical Golden Singing Cheeses-
- I think a classical piece plays when the jester grabs the chigger out of Stimpy's hand. This track is listed as "Unknown" on GEMA, which is also what every other classical piece is listed as. It also sounds like Sammy Burdson's "Timpani Roll" plays at the same time as it
- "Dereliction (Chord B)" by Patrick Gowers plays when Ren says "How dare you bring me these unripened cheeses", Not "Dissension (A)"
- An unknown track plays when Ren lies back down after "Shocking" plays
- I think "Large Triangle Hits" by Gary Kettel plays at the same time as "Jubilate (A)"
-A Hard Day's Luck-
- "Finger Cymbal Hits" by Gary Kettel plays right before "Trumpet Link (B)"
- "Orchestral Clash" by Gary Kettel plays at the same time as "Springtime Dance (A)" when the leprechaun appears. It also plays again right when Marvin interrupts the leprechaun to say the pledge of allegiance
- "Sparkles 1" by Otto Sieben plays at the same time as "Without Walls A"
Correction: "Dereliction (Chord B)" is the track that plays when Ren lies back down but pitched up
Delete(You also listed Robert Cornford as the composer of "Dereliction" instead of Patrick Gowers FYI)
I apologize for constantly correcting you, but "Dereliction (Chord B)" plays both when Ren gives Stimpy the cheeses back AND when he flops back down
DeleteNothing to worry about, this episode is a mess to keep track of since this one really was the start of Games' music over-stuffing tendencies.
DeleteIt seemed like Shawn Patterson wanted to edit the tracks the studio licensed to sound like a film score as opposed to playing one single track over a scene and being done with it
DeleteHopefully these are the last updates I have for this god-forsaken episode
ReplyDeleteIn Magical Golden Singing Cheeses:
- I think the two tracks that play when the jester grabs the chigger out of Stimpy's hand after "National Affairs (B)" is "Timpani - Rolls (I)" followed by the SONIA version of "Coriolanus Overture" being used as a sting. The part that is used sounds like it is at exactly 5:21 in the track (which is such a weirdly specific section to use as a sting)
- "Timpani - Glissandos (A)" sounds like it's used after "Family Portraits 59" when the jester says "I'll take it!", but it's played very quietly
- The APM track "Evil Influence" by Robert Farnon plays during "Chronicles in Time" when the jester says "but I have something better"
-"A Timeless Odyssey" plays again at the same time as the second usage of "Orchestral Ending (D)" when Stimpy comes home with the cheeses before "Cut and Thrust"
- "Bass Drum (A)" by Gary Kettel sounds like it plays when Stimpy pulls the crowbar out of the ogre's toe after "Fighting Legions A"
Okay! I think I'm finally done! IDing the tracks in this episode sucks!
I think the parts listed as Timpani - Glissandos (a) and Bass Drum (a) are both more instances of King Lear E, as both parts in the episode have a dark echo that matches King Lear E.
DeleteAs for the theory of Patterson editing tracks to sound like film score, I understand what he was trying to do in theory, but in practice the result is audial chaos.
A Hard Days Luck update:
ReplyDelete"Harp Gliss 1 [#20.6]" plays right before "Sparkles 1" and "Without Walls A" (Haggis imagines himself with hair)
